Dixie Chicks Vs. Band Of Horses
We're told that last night's Grammy Awards had some very nice moments, none nice enough to tear our attention away from the Discovery Channel's special on the Freemasons, but, come on, that was awesome.
Incidentally, there was another, decidedly less bloated award show on Saturday night: The Plug Independent Music Awards.
Which award show (or artist) interests you? We'd love to hear.

Chicks rule, mean old boys drool!
The voters spoke out loud and clear in November and were validated once again last night when the Dixie Chicks picked up every category in which they were nominated.
Not a regular award show fan, our house was watching last night to see if the Dixie Chicks would be validated too.
Politicians silenced our voices through a campaign of fear when they went after the Dixie Chicks. Many others were speaking out at that same time and attempts were made to silent them, but the Dixie Chicks were the easy target. The C&W crowd is typically conservative so it was easy to rally "a little" hate.
I didn't own a Dixie Chicks CD at the time, but I do now and love the newest CD, so do my friends.
The world was interesting at that time, especially to someone who was trying to survive cancer. I still had my passion, but remember attended several concerts during my recovery and how the world felt different.
Springsteen spoke out in support of the Dixie Chicks. Train had words of their own, but it was a concert to see James Taylor (my first JT concert) that made me feel sad.
When JT prefaced a song he wrote with a little story that had a political background, he was booed by some in the crowd.
I, along with many others, sprang up from our seats to clap loudly and let him know he wasn't in a hostile environment.
We don't all have to agree, but if we cannot be free to express ourselves than we have lost something very valuable.
The voters collectively transferred power in November, but it was to politicians.
The Grammy awards last night demonstrated that we can have our voices back too and did so LOUDLY.
