If you resolved to lose some weight this year, oil traders have got your back. The price per barrel of oil briefly hit $100 on Wednesday (though it eventually dropped down to $99.62, still an all time high). We hope Santa brought you some comfy walking shoes.

neither $99.62 or $100 is an all time high when adjusted for inflation. In 1980, oil averaged $38 a barrel which is over $100 in Dec 2007 dollars. We're almost there, but not yet.
