Rocky Mountain High
Democrats, playing against type, made a smart decision and decided to hold their 2008 convention in Denver instead of New York. Though it will drain them of their power to be away from their homosexual center for so long (oh wait, maybe that's Massachusetts), the D's will benefit from pretending to show the rest of the country that they care about issues that affect people other than rich folks on the upper east side who want to legalize drugs and let all the bad men out of jail.

Marijuana in Colorado
FYI, Colorado has some of the most lenient marijuana laws in the states, and a rather high level of marijuana use.

More details. . .
Morgan -
It's great that you point out the D's hypocrisy, but I'd love it if your article had some depth to it, pointed out examples of the absurdity of, say, Pelosi's 100 Hour plan, and it's utter lack of depth. A bit more meat, in other words. . .you have an audience, no? Give 'em an earful, brother!

Dems Need to Address the Issue of Drug Policy Reform
This will be a great opportunity to bring light to some of the issues involving the failed War on Drugs. I commend the work being done in Colorado such as the SAFER (Safer Alternatives For Enjoyable Recreation) initiatives and other drug policy reform work. It's not just about legalizing drugs, it's about ending the economically and socially draining harms caused by locking up non-violent offenders for what they put in their own bodies. Yes, citizens who pose a real threat to society should be punished, but filling up our prisons with recreational drug users, minorities, and young people is not the way to rid our country of crime.
