Burma's Traditional, Non-Traditional Sport
With all the bad news from Burma it's hard not to define the country by its problems, so we were really happy to learn about chinlone, the traditional Burmese sport in the video below. It's played on a sort of dojo, where six teammates juggle a small ball in the most acrobatic ways they can. There's no score-keeping and no winners or losers. As in skateboarding, the competition is for informal style points. College hacky-sackers: eat your hearts out. For more, check out Mystic Ball, a documentary on the sport.
