Walkability Calculator
Walk Score, a new Google Maps mash-up, will calculate how walkable your neighborhood is on a 100-point scale.
The score is based on the proximity of restaurants, shops, schools and other essentials.
It looks like a pretty useful metric, but we wonder how many people in walkable neighborhoods end up driving to far-flung shops and schools they prefer anyway.
We did notice a few new places in our environs we could get to on foot, though, and we're happy to report the GOOD offices scored a 77/100.
Check out Walk Score. Then maybe walk somewhere.

Awesome
This is a fun little find but I did notice one thing when I looked up one neighborhood I lived in that was separated by Water (and no walkable bridges nearby) in Boston the score was a bit wrong, but cool other than that!
