From time to time, after a hard day's work, we love to share a spot on the couch beside a special someone (our IT guy, our next-door neighbor Carla the Spinster, or even one of our sweet, unsuspecting interns) and watch some good, old-fashioned science fiction. We get all silly over the eccentric scientists in white lab coats, the screaming B-list harlots, the well-intentioned downward spiral that inevitably culminates with the phrase, "Something went terribly, terribly wrong!"

The Twilight Zone is a bit like crack to us. That's why we're so excited about Popular Science's list of Scary Science. Eat your heart out Blob!
