Re:What about pverty?
Free trade allows for everyone to profit. Wealth is not a zero sum game. As Trade increases a countries wealth increases. This wealth ends up in the hands of workers. The "poor" may sometimes have a smaller share of the wealth but they are still better off than they were before. Relatively speaking the poor in america have a much higher standard of living than those from poor nations. The poor are also hurt by many government programs that are supposed to help them. One example is rent control. If renters can't make a profit they will stop renting and won't build new housing. Therefore a shortage is created and less people can have affordable housing. Cities with the most rent control tend to have more homeless.
