Ron Paul is... Well, a Bigot
response to Abbybwood's post There's one other candidate you're forgetting
Paul has argued on Meet the Press that Lincoln could have avoided the "War between the States" by doing what Britain had done: Purchase all of the slaves and set them free. Now, if that's not ridiculous on its face, he's got more. He believes in a static, non-dynamic constitution. He believes in throwback ideas that deserve to be left in the dark corners of our Nation's history. He also is a hell of a devotee of the Austrian anti-regulatory school of economics, which started out as having very valid and necessary critiques of communism and socialism... but went (predictably) extreme. Paul has a creepy newsletter (over the past 20 years) that has been reprinted (selected entries, that is) recently in the New Republic. Go find it. Sidenote: Two Gay men living down the street have to have the largest Ron Paul for President sign I've seen in someones front yard. Irony.

Ron Paul
For "crudup," who argues that Ron Paul is a bigot: Sure, RP said those things about avoiding the "War Between the States" on Meet the Press. He meant that by purchasing the slaves and setting them free, Lincoln would be saving 500,000-600,000 lives in a costly war. Is THAT so ridiculous? Wait, I think I have something here about race that Dr. Paul wrote: "Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than as individuals. Racists believe that all individuals who share superficial physical characteristics are alike: as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism."-Ron Paul. If you can think that deeply, crudup, maybe you can apply this principle to your obvious bias against homosexuals.
Is there something wrong with the constitution the way our founding fathers wrote it? You seem to be anti-American. Are you unhappy with your displacement from the Taliban?

what's your point!
The question was about including RP in the list of viable candidates since HRC is there (though DOA), do ya get it, do ya get it?
