    Business & Money

response to  Chris Weller, Max Joseph, and Danielle Flug's post The Economy

    always a coincidence...

i just watched the movie thing and a pal of mine happened to be pierin over my shoulder at the same time. No longer than thirty minutes before that we watched the new batman movie. he says in response to the oil/corn thing, "where's our batman."

    Politics

response to  Chalmers Johnson's post It’s Time to Flee the Country

the bomb has long ago dropped in our homeland...

i was sittin at the rack at my usual stink hole (dirt bar) sipping a dollar beer (can't afford anything else) and speaking rather deeply with an elder of mine. as we took our terns spitting comments about the complex layers of pain the united states is, and will be going through for manymanymany years, we sank deeper and deeper into a trench of depression. to think that
ONE human could - over the ruling course of however many years he's been in charge - change the condition of the world in such a fashion that he has is absolutely mind imploding. think of the layers...

i want to leave. I'll be 29 in a couple days. I'm a survivalist, not a politician. i'm moving to Norway where my roots are, marrying an absolute drop-dead-stunner-of-a-woman, and continue doing what i enjoy as a living: living (and welding of coarse).

    Living

response to  GOOD magazine's post Project 009: Lentil Soup

    what a coincidence

someone asked what a dutch oven is... made me laugh a bit. it's made of cast iron; they're usually black and as heavy as the weight i bench pressed to secure the gold at last saturday's challenge in Montreal, Canada.

anyway, the recipe is good and i'll tell ya why. IT'S SIMPLE! for anyone who hasn't stripped a dish down to "just what it needs to get by" you need to or you haven't REALLY cooked. that's how you learn food. that's how you learn "what works, what doesn't". plus, you have the intimate opportunity to engage in a relationship with food itself - not beaten up by the sloppy hand of someone who's made a dish for the tongue and not the body - so enjoy it. in honor of this dish i should submit my rock and potato soup recipe that uses a special kind of stone from the sea or cortez. the stone (that shall remain nameless) has a rare mineral that allows a person to control their dreams and take trips back in time. (kidding)

    Sweet.

    Environment

response to  Catharine Livingston's post Kolbert Reports

    good job sissy...

Being and living in my native state of Oregon - an environment of magnificent natural beauty - I have with my own eyes seen the changes in its surroundings. They terrify me. The seasons don't transition like they use to and the weather patterns are not at all predictable. And when a common layman like my self sees abnormal events like these (to name a few) take place in a matter of five or so years, it makes even less sense that humanity can be in denial of modern man's situation.

Hi friends

We've outgrown this 800-pixel wide website and we're moving to new digs.

While we pack up our things (i.e. articles and videos and stuff), we're shutting down commenting and new registrations on the current site.

Our new site is up and running at GOOD.is/.
