Let me summarize your post
response to Bahtlahn's post Funny Opinion On The Devil
*You are just as dumb as the pastor who posted that sign. You two think because Obama's and Osama's names are similar Obama must be muslim. Well there are tons of Mexicans named Jesus, does that mean the son of God was a Mexican?BTW Obama is a Christian, but don't let the facts bother you.
*What does the war in Iraq have to do with us wearing burkas? Let me remind that none of the Sept 11 hijackers were Iraqi, but most of them were from Saudi Arabia which ironically is a U.S. ally and the Saudi royal family are close personal friends of the Bushs who are also strangely close personal friends with the Bin Laden family. That's right, Osama Bin Laden's family and George W. Bush's family are like peas in a pod. But don't let the facts bother you.
*You can't build up a depleted all volunteer military if no one wants to go off to fight a pointless war that the majority of America is against. Have you perused the military's recruiting numbers lately? I guess we could bring back the draft. Then maybe some of the politicians who are sending the children of those among us who are less fortunate off to die would have to send their kids as well.
*My dear friend who just got back from a 15 month tour in Iraq does not have any desire to go back, ever.
*I myself as a veteran have no desire to go and I am frankly apalled at the blatant misuse of the American military to settle one man's score and to make Dick Cheney and Halliburton billions of dollars(can you say profiteering?)
*Neither of my 2 brothers who are recently military veterans have any desire to go.
*Cindy Sheehan, who lost her son to the Iraq war does not share the same opinion as your dear friend.
*And why do you say you "would" send your kids? Send them. Pack their bags and send them right now. If you don't have any kids then you go. Don't sit back and talk about how it is the right thing to do while you chomp a burger and swill down a beer. If you really think it is the right thing to do you go do it. You could go as a suicide bomber, it would be a win win situation.
*I am deeply sorry that your friend lost his daughter and I am even more sorry that it was for nothing. There are some fundamental questions that need to be asked about the Iraq war and they are: Why did we go in? Why are we still there? (Don't give me that giving democracy to the Iraqis. Bush Cheney and his ilk don't give a rat's *^&%$ about the Iraqis) When we talk about winning the war in Iraq what do we mean. It is like the war on drugs, the war on terrorism, and Mc Cain's new proposed war on poverty. Like John Edwards said they are just bumper stickers that scare people into letting the repressive American regime du jour swindle away our money and our civil liberties (a la The Patriot Act).
*Cutting taxes for people that don't paid taxes or who pay very little taxes does not put anymore money in the hands of those who would stimulate the economy. I am lower middle class and I have paid any income tax in the last 3 years because I have gotten it all back at tax time. And food is not taxed anyway. What taxes are Johnny going to cut for me? What I really need are repairs done to the road, better public transportation to relieve traffic, education susidization and more police on the street.
*Cutting taxes does also cut government spending that much is true like spending to schools(K-12, community colleges and public universities), public transportation, police, firemen, and the other myriad of public services that benefit me and my family on a daily basis. The government spending that should be cut like the funneling of our tax dollars to the Iraqi government and Halliburton is not on the agenda for Mc Cain and his republican cronies because they are reaping the rewards.
*Your last comment is far too stupid to even dignify with a response but suffice it to say that muslims are not the only ones who have committed terrorist acts against the United States(did we forget about Mc Veigh and Kaczinsky?) And the fact that there has not been a subsequent terrorist act on American soil since Sept 11(excluding the numerous school shootings and whatever else I may have missed) does not mean that republicans have been keeping America safe. It only means that now they don't have to come all the way over here to kill us. Now they can do it right in their own back yard.
*And lastly who is going to protect us from the fundamentalist christians? Their influence has been encroaching on my peace and quiet more and more since King George took the throne. I want to be christian even less than I want to be muslim. At least the muslims aren't hypocrites.
So after reading your post it is clear to me that you are a victim of the conservative brainwashing machine and summarization of your entire post can be done in one line:
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

Hmm
I won't pretend that I've never been insulting on an anonymous post, but I recognize that it's the "low road" and try to avoid it. If we were in person, it could be an interesting debate as to whether or not I'm stupid, but let's put it to the side. Generally, I don't think so, but maybe. I usually spend time with some freaky geniuses, so compared to them, I think you're right.
You make some good points, but you misunderstand me and go nutso in your love of anonymity that I couldn't resist a brief response on a couple of minor points. Please note that the guy below you is such an obnoxious jerk as to not deserve response, so at least I'm recognizing that behind your anger and quickness to abandon decent conversation/debate, there is a "good guy." I think I was tripped up by your military service - I admire it and want to respond because of it.
You took my usage of Obama and Osama wayyyyy too far. I believe Osama is evil. I believe Obama is a fool of the largest proportions. You can bleet at me all day long, but if you want to see the sheep in this country, take a look at the Obama camp. I am more than a little aware of the fact that Obama is a Christian. Let's just say that religion is one of my passions. (It doesn't mean that I'm the sheep that you think I am, but far little fascinates me more than religion's role in the world.) I will say unabashedly that I am not a Christian. And though I'm not answering all of your points and the ones I'm answering are out of order (being hurried is a blessing and a curse), having great confidence in my own spiritual/life path is my greatest protection from fundamental Christians.
I work way too hard and way too many hours to have responded with more than the bullet points than I did. Even now, I will not engage you in a lengthy debate on the role of taxes/gov't/military.
Where I can't even start a debate is on whether or not there are a very large number of militant Muslims who are willing to organize and fight until they have the world living under sharia or until they are no more. I vote for what's behind door #2.
The last point that I can't ignore is the idea about sending my kids to the military. One: how exactly does that work? Do I dictate to them what to eat as well? How about what to wear? Shall I lock them in a cellar until they listen to my perfect wisdom? So point one: give me a break on "sending" my kids anywhere. I can/will raise them to serve G-d first and country second. If they are not actively engaged in a seminary-type lifestyle, they will have my strongest encouragement to pursue a military option. Point two on the kids: exactly which branch of the miliary is accepting 14 year old girls?
Chill out on the personal attacks. If you are decent, try to assume that other people are as well. If you are capable of independent thought, give me the benefit of the doubt as well. I have aligned myself at different times of my life strongly with the left and the right. (I now stand curiously off to the side.) Having been in both camps, I'll tell you that the left is far more sheep-like and devoid of honest conversation than the right. I hardly ever listen to Rush. I'm not who you think I am. Maybe your tendency to see the sheep in me (or others) should be cause for you to look in the mirror for an extra second or two.

EXCELLENT
I could not have said it better myself.
I would make the correction that Halliburton and CACI the two biggest war profiteers and friends to Bush AND Cheney don't make billions... they make HUNDREDS of billions.
This while our soldiers are on the front lines and giving up their lives for cheap and for nothing. THEN whey they come home... no support, no medical, no GI Bill not even a thank you from our government.
I HATE this regime and even good people can become victim to FOX "news" and the hate mongers in the media.
When people are uneducated, ignorant, racist and bigoted this is what it leads to... Osama - Obama. Hatred of people for no other reason than their skin color, be it that they are infinitely more intelligent than the old white man. Who incidentally came in not quite dead last at Annapolis.
AND on cutting taxes... you are absolutely correct HOWEVER I have seen NO tax cuts that help ME out.
All of the tax cuts the Repuglicans are talking about are for the already too rich and BIG BUSINESS corporations. Still the Reagan "trickle down" theory lives on. I can tell you that it's a FACT that NONE is trickling down to ME.
In conclusion I wonder which part of your blog insulted bahtlahn... perhaps it was, "You could go as a suicide bomber, it would be a win win situation."
HAHAHAHAHA! I loved it.
