Deserving?

Since when do we give grace based on how good people are? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?
I know Rev. Falwell made a lot of people angry... he made me angry. But, he needs grace as much as anyone.
It isn't our place to condemn, even if Falwell made a career of condemnation. Otherwise, are we any better than he?
